At the age of 19 Albert Weber started his business in the former hen-house of his father’s farm. The first products were complex turning parts for MTU – former Maybach Motorenbau – and the transmission company ZF. This was the starting point of a development that led the company to the cutting edge of the automotive supply industry.

Takeover of the company Kyburz KG, where Albert Weber learned his profession. Manufacturing of special purpose machines, special fixtures, prototypes and complex cubic parts as well as cylinder blocks.

 

1980

100% supplier of magnesium cylinder blocks for the Volkswagen Beetle.

Self-developed grinding machine.

 

1987

Takeover of Schramme GmbH, production capacity enlargement.

 

1988

Exclusive supplier of the V8 aluminium engine blocks for Audi.

 

1989

Cutter spindles for document shredders.

 

1994

Albert Weber is nominated by Chrysler as the leading benchmark company for engine block manufacturing.

 

 

1996

Purchasing of the Jung-Group and further enlargement of the product portfolio. Albert Weber GmbH now has production sites in Germany, USA and Hungary.

 

1996

Albert Weber GmbH is awarded with the Golden Pentastar for the first time by Chrysler.

 

1997

Increase of the daily production capacity up to 800 – 1,000 engine blocks.

 

1997

Start of construction work for the Albert Weber Technology Center in Markdorf.

 

1999

Finalization of the Albert Weber Technology Center.

 

2000

On December 06, 2000 the inauguration of the crankshaft production is celebrated. Albert Weber is now capable to produce the most complex part of the engine, thus taking further steps into future.

 

2002

A production output of 1,000 daily crankshafts is achieved.

 

2002

January 23rd: The Weber success story continues: 100,000 crankshafts machined to date. 

 

2002

The internationalization of the company continues. Weber acquires PSA, Perkins and Ford as customers.

 

2003

Start of prototype and small-quantity crankshaft production.

 

2003

Ford grants Albert Weber with the quality Q1 award for continuous delivery reliability.

 

2003

Albert Weber GmbH is supplier for the main components of the Weber Motor MPE 750.

 

2004

For the first time in history BMW is outsourcing the manufacturing of a cylinder head to a supplier. Albert Weber GmbH is granted the contract.

 

2005

Albert Weber GmbH is manufacturing crankshaft and engine block for the Weber Motor V4 engine.

 

2005

Build-up of the crankshaft production in Charleston, S.C., USA . With this production site Albert Weber is the first independent company to supply machined crankshafts to automobile manufacturers from the USA.

Start Serial Production of Weber Fibertech

Weber Automotive at the International Automobil Trade Fair in Frankfurt

Weber Automotive is one of the 1000 world market leader
