In the search to find a technology which would better solve the diverse objectives concerning strength/stiffness, long-time durability, weight and cost, we had to leave traditional approaches behind. The outcome of more than 10 years of research and development is our E-LFT (Endless Long Fiber Technology) process which Weber Fibertech brought to production readiness. |
|
The basis of this technology is a matrix made out of long-fiber thermoplastics that give freedom to design. In this matrix, continuous fibers are embedded in a repeatable and patented process that adds strength to the design to withstand operational and crash forces. Apart from the freedom of design, the engineer has the possibility to integrate functional elements into the production process and eliminate additional assembly steps and inspection processes.
The customer gets structural interior or exterior components that deliver equal or better safety at nearly half the weight and with a comparable or lower price than any other technology in production today. |
